The Premise
The premise of the Dead Space series is that in the future, humanity has mastered space travel and has colonized many planets across the universe. One of these colonies, Aegis VII, is home to a mining operation that uncovers a strange artifact known as the Marker. The Marker emits a signal that drives anyone who comes into contact with it insane, causing them to violently attack anything living nearby. The protagonist of the first game, Isaac Clarke, is a member of the mining team that discovers the Marker, and he must fight his way through hordes of deranged enemies in order to escape the planet alive.

The atmosphere on the USG Ishimura is one of dread and suspense. The player never knows when another Necromorph will jump out, and the constant fear can be overwhelming at times. However, this fear is also what makes Dead Space so unique and enjoyable. The game does an excellent job of building tension and creating an immersive experience that will leave players on the edge of their seats.
The Enemies
The enemies, called necromorphs, are truly nightmarish creatures. One of the first enemies you encounter is a reanimated corpse with its limbs twisted backwards, lurching towards you with gnashing teeth. And it only gets worse from there. As you progress through the game, you’ll encounter all manner of monstrosities, including an enemy that’s literally a gigantic baby’s head with spider legs.
The Death Scenes
While many gamers will tell you that the scares in Dead Space come more from the atmosphere than from anything else, there are definitely some moments in the game that will make you jump. These are mostly death scenes, where you witness NPC’s being killed in very gruesome ways. Some of these scenes are:
-The scene where you witness the death of Kendra Daniels.
-The scene where you see the death of Hammond.
-The scene where Isaac is impaled by a Necromorph.
